Veg Analogy
Life is like an allotment
You grow loads of courgettes
Because you can grow courgettes
But just because you can grow them
Doesn't mean you shouldn't try
To grow aubergines
To dabble with beetroot
To risk squashes
Life is like Rhubarb
Once you have a plant
It will grown on its own
You don't really like it
You don't want to use it
You want Strawberries
Long for Raspberries
Covet Blackberries
Life however, could be
Like that veg plot in Greece
On that telly programme
With that passionate chef
Where peppers and tomatoes grow
Under hot Mediterranean sun
Handled with caring touch
Varied and abundant
Life is bare earth in a small garden
Full of promise and adventure
To make the plot
That makes you smile
To grow the veg
That you desire
That feeds your body
Grown with love
